Hi, I'm Ashley.
I am a mom to a 9 (going on 19) year old little girl named Avery Rose. She is my entire world. Being a single parent is not only one of the most challenging things I have ever done but also one of the MOST rewarding. I work part time as a NICU nurse for over 8 years now and although that is my career, it is not my only job. I am co-owner of a gym, Muscle Bay Fitness. We are a seasonal gym open 6 months out of the year on a resort island here in Ohio. It has been an experience to say the least, with no business background I am proud to say this will be our 5th summer open! Outside of owning a gym I also LOVE to workout. It is my therapy, my escape and so much more. Something incredibly satisfying about pushing yourself beyond what you think you are capable of doing. My workout partner of over 6 years is also my best friend/ boy friend, business partner, and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu partner/ coach. Jiu Jitsu was something I had never seen or heard of, once I did I knew I had to be a part of that culture. I've been training Jiu Jitsu on and off for about 4 years now, last February I received my blue belt after competing and winning both matches with submissions. It is an addiction and a humbling experience. Learning to be comfortable being uncomfortable and self defense in the form of BJJ is priceless. And as if all of that weren't enough, I am on my very first journey as a surrogate. This is something I am so incredibly passionate about and part of what pushed me to starting a blog. I'm just excited to share this journey with ya'll. Juggling all of these things won't be easy but you only get one life to live so I'm going to embrace all of the crazy. And share it all right here!
